Research Interests

Currently, I am working on the problem of characterizing classical-quantum transition in terms of those aspects of quantum information processing that are essentially quantum, and those that have classical analogues. In particular, I am investigating implications of the mathematical structure of toy-model theories (theories that help to study challenging aspects of quantum mechanics by mimicking it), on the
fundamental status of quantum states. My latest work investigates a toy-model theory, that mimics various characteristic features of quantum mechanics. Unlike the toy-models previously studied in the literature, this toy-model allows for an observer to have a full knowledge of a system's real (ontic) state. This model supports the idea that quantum-mechanical states are states of reality and not merely states of the observer's knowledge.
